Podiatry clinic for children in Manhasset expands services

Northern Ankle Foot Associates of Manhasset is now offering expanded pediatric podiatry services.

These services include updated diagnostic protocols and dedicated appointment capacity for young patients with flat feet and related structural conditions. There is a gap that has been documented in specialized foot care for children in Nassau County that has forced families to travel long distances to access podiatry treatment for their children.

Each child is evaluated by Northern Ankle Foot Associates using weight bearing X-rays so that physicians can assess heel alignment, arch collapse, and bone development in one visit so that patients do not need to be referred other imaging centers. The activity level, age, and degree of deformity are used to development individual treatment plans.

Such clinics and their new services can be highlighted with brochure printing.

Dr. Robyn Joseph, medical director of Northern Ankle Foot Associates, said that their clinic discovered a need for this service after tracking the data of their patients. Dr. Jospeh added that many of the patients’ families said they travelled at least 45 minutes to find a pediatric podiatrist who can handle both the diagnostics and the treatment in one location.

The clinic is open five days a week, with appointments added on Saturday mornings to accommodate this new service and those families who have constraints due to work and school.
