Manhasset Public Library set to go to the wild dogs

An event has been planned for the Manhasset Public Library that will give the public a chance to learn more about the wild animals sharing their Long Island home.

The presentation, which is being offered courtesy of the North Shore Audubon society, will see Frank Vincenti discuss the important role coyotes, foxes, and other large carnivores play in the local area. According to the organizers, though these animals may not be easy to spot, they are around and have found a way to successfully share their environment with human encroachment.

One of the points of the discussion will be the evolution of wild canines and how they impacted their environments in the past, as well as how they will affect them in the present and future. Vincenti works with the Wild Dog Foundation, which is an organization that seeks to inform the public about the threats wild canines face and how people can help to protect the species at risk from extinction. A printer can supply organizations such as this with Brochures and other items that can help them to get their message out to the public.

The talk will take place in the Lower Level Community Room of the Manhasset Public Library on May 23rd at 7:00 pm. Refreshments will be served, and all are welcome to come and find out more about the canines who share Long Island.
