Manhasset hospital opens new surgical space

The Petrocelli Surgical Pavilion of North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) in Manhasset has now been completed.

This tower spans 288,000 square feet, and will complement the neurosurgery, transplant, and cardiac programs of the hospital that are renowned around the world.

At a cost of $560 million, this investment by Northwell Health, the largest healthcare provider in New York State, is an affirmation of the commitment of the healthcare provider to the communities it serves.

Executive director of NSUH, Jon Sendach, said this will enable the hospital to provide the most complex and high-quality care to residents of Long Island, New York City, and others who travel to the hospital for its unique care.

There are 18 operating rooms that include three hybrid rooms, which offer advanced imaging, and 132 intensive care rooms in the Petrocelli Pavilion.

The hybrid operating rooms have an image-guided interventional suite that complements the room and enables advanced and complex surgical procedures. Brochure printing can be used to offer more details about such rooms and their benefits for patients.

Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital (SABHH) will find its new home at NSUH, and has a concierge entrance for cardiac patients and their families. SABHH features a heart team that is the most experienced in New York State, and delivers more cardiac care than other healthcare system in the state.
