The clinical Center for Bioelectric Medicine has been opened by Northwell Health in Manhasset on Community Drive.
The new center features patient rooms, a waiting area, and space for doctors, research nurses, and coordinators of clinical trials to consult with participants and patients. The facility is designed for those interested in participating in bioelectronic medicine clinical trials, such as studies that evaluate the stimulation of the vagus nerve. As new bioelectronic medicine devices are approved for use the Center will offer them to patients.
The goal of the center will be to connect patients to clinical trials of bioelectronic medicine. Northwell is currently undertaking clinical trials of methods to stop excessive bleeding, brain implant applications to reverse paralysis, treatments for post-traumatic stress disorders, treatments for rheumatoid arthritis. and treatments for pediatric inflammatory bowel disease.
Such new centers might benefit from brochure printing to provide more details about their clinical trials and current treatments offered.
The president and CEO of Northwell, Michael J. Dowling, said that Northwell prides itself on offering innovative treatments t patients. He added that clinical trials have shown bioelectronic medicine to be of great benefit to patients and as the field is now expanding and developing there is now this opportunity to offer this state-of-the-art treatment to patients.
Northwell is planning for a second such center in Manhattan.
