The warmer weather will soon be arriving in Manhasset, and during an area workshop, the public will have an opportunity to learn some of the secrets to having a great looking lawn.
Queens Botanical Garden will be hosting a lawn care class, and it will take a holistic look to ways people can have lush green grass on their property. While it will address the seasonal cycle of turf maintenance, it will focus of the chores that need to be done during the spring season.
Those who are interested in taking part are reminded to arrive in clothing appropriate for the weather and that they do not mind getting dirty, as the workshop will be a hands-on activity. One of the topics that will be addressed will be why fertilizing should be done in the fall, and the event is being brought to the public courtesy of the NYC Compost Project. Booklets that provide more information and tips for gardeners can be prepared for an occasion like this by an area printing services provider.
Tickets to participate in the event, which will be taking place on April 25, are $10 each. It will be held at 43-50 Main Street in Flushing, and anyone who would like to find out more about the class, or the gardens themselves, has been invited to visit the Queens Botanical Garden’s Facebook page.
