The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has given a five-star rating to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset.
News about such accomplishments is often disseminated throughout a community with flyer printing.
This is the highest rating possible from the CMS which uses data that evaluates the experiences of patients, outcomes, and hospital procedures. There are just over 4,600 star-rated hospitals across the country and only 15 percent of them have earned the status of five stars. Data between 2018 and 2022 from Care Compare is used to determine these ratings.
CEO and presidents of Northwell, Michale Dowling, said that Northwell Health analyzes the CMS report of each of its hospitals every year, scrutinizes them carefully, and then makes changes where needed to improve the quality of their services. He said that this has been one of the best years of the health system with three hospitals of Northwell Health on Long Island receiving five-star ratings which proves their commitment to excellent outcomes and quality care.
Senior vice president and chief quality officer at Northwell Health, Peter Silver, MD, said that the top priority for all team members of Northwell Health is quality. He added that patient care safety and outcomes, experiences of patients, and efficient processes are taken seriously, which is demonstrated by the latest ratings from CMS.
