Improvements to Middle Road between Lehigh Station Road and Erie Station Road are being planned by Monroe County in Henrietta. This section of the road spans 1.3 miles.
The County is looking for feedback from the public on this project. Local Print shops often help with the printing of pamphlets that provide more details about such projects and have a form for comments.
The project will entail improving the surface condition of the pavement by resurfacing travel lanes and standardizing the width to 34 inches. The shoulders are not sufficiently paved so the shoulders will be widened to be a standard width of six feet to be able to better accommodate pedestrians and cyclists. Deficiencies in roadside safety and drainage will be corrected. There will be two wheelchair ramps on the south side of the intersection of Lehigh Station Road and Middle to comply with the regulations of the ADA.
The estimated cost of the project is $3.5m with the project funded entirely by Monroe County. Two-way traffic will be maintained during the length of the project and access to all properties will be maintained.
The relocation of utilities in preparation for the project is expected to begin in the winter of 2023. Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2023, and be completed by the end of the year.
