T-Mobile is planning to open five new customer service call centers in in the Rochester area, one of which will be in Henrietta.
Called a “customer experience center” by T-Mobile, the new center will be between Clay Road and East Henrietta Road, with easy access to the highway. Town supervisor of Henrietta, Stephen Schultz, said that the outside of the center is being built fairly quickly but the interior will take longer as a network, gear for information technology, and other wiring need to be installed so the call center can be operational.
It is expected that about 1,000 people will be hired for the new center. Announcements of such opportunities are often made known throughout a region with poster printing.
CEO of T-Mobile, John Legere, said that New York has a diverse workforce, strong sense of community, and business-friendly environment making the greater Rochester area the ideal location for a new Customer Experience Center. He added that the company is looking forward to bringing another team of valuable people to the area who have a passion for supporting customers so that they can be productive every day.
Schultz pointed out that these new employees will help to increase the tax base of the town and make use of local businesses, thereby adding to the economic impact of the center.
