Mattress and furniture store to come to Henrietta
Old Brick Furniture & Mattress, based in Albany, is planning to open a store in Henrietta in what was once the space for Gander Mountain on Jay Scutti Boulevard.
The space covers 93,000 square feet and has been vacant since 2017. Gander Mountain, an outdoor sporting goods chain based in Minnesota, closed the store in Henrietta and many others as part of a proceeding for Chapter 11.
Old Brick Furniture sells mattresses and furniture from a wide variety of brands that include Sealey, Tempur-Pedic, and Craftmaster. CEO Michael Fiacco said that the store offers affordable low prices. Such new stores can turn to flyer printing to promote their brand and the products they offer.
He added that this location was selected as it was available for purchase and the company prefers to buy its real estate rather than lease it. He added that the location is in a very busy district with many other excellent retailers in the area.
This will be the first Old Brick Furniture store in the region. The other stores of the brand are in the Albany area with a few additional stores in New England. It is planned that the company will expand more into western New York, with other stores in the Rochester market.
The store in Henrietta is expected to open this fall.
