Ice-cream shop to open in Henrietta

A property on East Henrietta Road near the Dome Arena in Henrietta will soon be home to another Abbott’s Frozen Custard.

Expected to open before the end of the month, this will be the third ice-cream shop at that location in 17 years. Banner printing is often used at such sites to announce the opening of a new dining establishment.

Vice president of business development, Brenden Drew, said the building will be undergoing minor renovations, primarily to be aligned with Abbott’s colors and branding. He said the property was appealing as he grew up with the brand. His mother, Gail Drew, owns the company and he first tasted Abbott’s when he was a young child at the original location on West Henrietta Road.

This new shop has picnic tables behind and in front of the store and is a stand-alone building, unlike most other Abbott’s shops. This shop will also have a drive-thru lane in keeping with the other three shops in the area.

The full menu will be offered that includes cakes and pies as well as cones and shakes. It will be open seven days a week, 365 days a year, with hours Monday through Thursday from noon to 8:30 pm, and noon to 10:30 pm Friday through Sunday.

Abbott’s is expected to be open for business on Sunday, May 21.
