Henrietta to become home to new brewery
Smugtown Brewery has received a special use permit to open in Town Center Plaza on East Henrietta Road in Henrietta. The Brewery will be next to AutoZone in a space that was once occupied by a video rental store.
Banner printing is often used at such sites to announce the opening of special establishments.
There will be 12 beers on tap, with a combination of seasonal and flagship varieties, and beer made in collaboration with other breweries. Also to be sold will be cider, wine, distilled liquors, and other beers made in the state of New York.
There will be a small kitchen with a menu of boneless wings, pizza, charcuterie boards, pretzels, and quesadillas. Food will be available for dining in or taking out, with outdoor seating, a DJ, and live music. Smugtown will be able to access a mobile canning company so their beer can be sold in kegs and cans.
Joel Chiarenza, owner of the plaza, and Jason Fox, head of brewing at Battle Street Brewery in Dansville, are co-owners of the establishment. Henrietta was selected for the business given the size of the suburb and being one of the fastest growing in the county.
Smugtown Brewery will be open seven days a week from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, with a planned opening in the fall.
