Henrietta golf course to open next week

The Riverton Oaks Municipal Golf Course in Henrietta is scheduled to open next Monday.

A few updates have been made to the golf course over the winter. New green tee locations have been added which are in front of the gold tees and are measured on the score card. Under construction are new gold tees. Recommendations from the Rochester District Golf Association (RGDA) have been made to relocate these tees, which will be larger than the existing gold tees. This work is expected to take place over the summer.

The colors of tee markers have been updated to match the recommendations of the United Sates Golf Association (USGA). Many of the weed trees which were overgrown have been removed so that the ponds on holes 2, 4, 5, and 6 are now visible. The overflow structures at these holes have also been repaired. The mowing equipment has been serviced so that the course should be better conditioned this year.

The golf course also joined the RDGA and will be participating in its Youth on Course program. This will enable those who are 18 years of age and younger to walk nine holes for $5.00 as long as they are members of the RDGA, which is free to these youth.

Brochure printing can be used to provide more details on such updates and benefits for the public.

The golf course is expected to open on Monday April 21, weather permitting.
