Unither Pharmaceuticals with a manufacturing facility on Jefferson Road in Henrietta will be expanding its pharmaceutical development and contract manufacturing over the next five years.
The company will be investing $106 million in the project that will renovate, consolidate, and update its facility to modernize its operations in New York State. This expansion is expected to create up to 180 jobs in the process. Many such jobs often have a need for business card printing services.
The expansion will span 43,000 square feet which will create a building that is more energy efficient and allow for expanded warehouse facilities, updated laboratories, and new equipment. The company plans to demolish part of the existing facility to reduce carbon emissions, improve operational efficiency, and implement other cost-saving measures regarding energy.
Empire State Development, the chief economic development agency in the state, through the Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit program of the state, is providing the company with $7 million in return for the creation of 180 jobs. Businesses are encouraged to expand and relocate to New York with this program by offering a credit of up to 6.85 percent of wages per job and a credit of 7.5 percent of wages for each new job for qualified green CHIPS projects or green projects.
Other assistance with the project is coming from Greater Rochester Enterprise, Rochester Gas and Electric, and Monroe County.
