Discount grocer to open in Henrietta

The Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is planning to open a store in at Jay Scutti Plaza in Henrietta. It will be replacing the Michaels arts and crafts store in that location that closed some time ago.

Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is a grocer from California and calls itself the largest extreme value retailer in the country as it sells name brand goods at very low prices. It sells all grocery goods from fresh meat to produce and at a discount. It also offers delivery services.

Burt Flickinger, grocery expert and managing director of Strategic Resource Group, said that these discounts may be 40 to 50 percent off for a period of one or two weeks only. He added that while stores like Walmart and Wegmans need to sell a complete selection of items, the Grocery Outlet is designed to have limited offers that are very much discounted and for brands that people are looking for.

Local Print shops can help spread the word about such stores and their weekly specials with Flyers and other printed materials.

The Grocery Outlet will take up the entire 23,000 square feet of the former store. The chain now has over 400 locations across the country with more than 1.5 million shoppers in its stores every week.

The corporate office of the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is planning a grand opening sometime before the end of the year.
