CooperVision, the second largest manufacturer of contact lens in the world, has purchased the Packaging and distribution center which it has rented from Konar Properties for the past 17 years.
This facility is in Henrietta at Erie Station Business Park. The property was purchased for close to $39 million and it is on Thruway Park Drive. The purchase is part of a strategic plan for the future of the company.

President, Americas, for CooperVision, Alex Wilkes, said that this was the time to purchase the facility after many years of renovating and expanding the facility to meet the need around the world for the company’s products. Wilkes added that the company is committed to remaining in Henrietta and owning the facility will be financially and strategically beneficial to the future of the company in the region.
An expansion of 15,000 square feet has recently been completed by CooperVision, which more than doubled the size of the company’s footprint. The space has enabled the company to upgrade the technology it uses to package and store its products and to streamline the picking of orders. Silver LEED certification was awarded to the facility this past summer.
