Unither Pharmaceuticals, accompany based in France, is planning to renovate, consolidate, and update a facility it purchased in Henrietta nine years ago. The company will invest $106 million in an effort to modernize its operations in New York State.
Producing several lines of medication delivery options and medications, Unither Pharmaceuticals offers a range of services to support regulatory support, clinical studies, drug development, and transfer of technology into commercial products.
The funds will be used to expand the existing facility by 43,000 square feet, which will extend its warehouse capabilities, allow for new equipment, and updated laboratories in a building that will be more energy-efficient. Part of this facility on Jefferson Road will also be demolished to reduce carbon emissions, improve operational efficiencies, and implement other measures to save on the cost of energy.
This expansion plan will also create up to 180 jobs. Many such jobs likely require business card printing services.
In exchange for the creation of these jobs, Empire State Development, the chief economic development agency in the state, will provide the company with up to $7 million through the Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit program of the state.
Eric Goupil, CEO of Unither Pharmaceuticals, said that this expansion will enable the plant in Henrietta to increase its capacity of sterile and preservative-free products and will enable the company to support the growth of its customers.
