Annual youth awards to be presented in Henrietta

The Henrietta Youth Board will be holding its annual Henrietta Youth Hall of Fame Awards this spring.

This ceremony will honor 26 seniors in high school from the Rush-Henrietta School District who have made contributions that are meaningful to their school or local community, or have demonstrated extraordinary personal growth, or overcome significant challenges or obstacles in their lives and be inducted into the Henrietta Youth Hall of Fame. In addition, these young people will receive certificates from dignitaries in the local area and have their pictures hung in the Henrietta Town Hall for one year along with a plaque dedicated to them.

Nominations for these awards are now being accepted by the Youth Development Advisory Committee. The nomination packet should include a résumé of accomplishments with involvement in volunteer and community service projects, personal letters of reference from non-family members, and any other documents that support a candidate's nomination for this award. Candidates need to reside in the Rush-Henrietta School District but do not need to attend schools in the district. The focus of this award is on how students conduct themselves with their peers, family, and school and community organizations.

Poster printing is often employed throughout a school district to garner nominations for such awards.

Applications need to be submitted by Friday, January 20. The Youth Hall of Fame Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 23.
