Chance to dance for free at Family Sundays
Casa Flamenca has organized a series of concerts that feature interactive flamenco dances, as well as musical performances.
The series of concerts is called Family Sundays and was created by a collaboration between Casa Flamenca, New Mexico Arts, and the City of Albuquerque Arts and Culture. The entire family is invited to experience bilingual, captivating flamenco performances that will feature special artists all the way from Spain. Some of the names on the line-up include guitarist Juani de la Isla, dancer Helmo Cortes, and vocals from Miguel Rosendo. Casa Flamenco’s own Valeria Montes will lead the dancing.
Juani de la Isla is a flamenco guitarist who comes from the south of Spain. He started learning about music from Rafael Romero, who was a celebrated flamenco singer. Over the course of his career, de la Isla has worked on more than 100 music albums.
Miguel Rosendo gained fame for his skills in performing flamenco. He is known in many flamenco venues (known as tablaos) in Barcelona, Seville, and Madrid.
Valeria Montes started studying dance at the age of 5. She fell in love with flamenco when she went to Spain and currently works as the Artistic and Executive Director for Casa Flamenco.
Family Sundays will be held at Casa Flamenco, Inc. in Albuquerque every Sunday from June to August. Flyer printing is a great way to promote a festival like this.
