Albuquerque to celebrate annual summer celebration

The 2020 Route 66 Summerfest is scheduled to return to Albuquerque this July.

This family-friendly Albuquerque event will include the Old Route 66 Car Show, which will feature an array of show cars parked along Central Avenue. Those who attend the event can also find myriad shopping opportunities from vendors that offer beverages, locally made food, as well as a wide variety of booths that offer handcrafted items such as jewelry, clothing, household items, and pottery. Vendors who take part in similar festivals often use banner printing to showcase their booths with attractive decorations.

A kids’ zone will be available at the festival and will include perks such as games, rock climbing walls provided by the City of Albuquerque Parks and Recreation Department, slides, and an inflatable bounce house.

Parking and admission to the Route 66 Summerfest will be free and open to the public. Some parking areas for those who arrive in personal vehicles will be available on a lot located at the corner of University Boulevard and Lomas Boulevard. For individuals who arrive by bicycle, the Esperanza Bicycle Education Center will provide a free valet for cyclists on the Central Avenue Fan Tang parking lot.

This event is scheduled to take place at Nob Hill on Saturday, July 18 from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. If leashed, pets are welcome.
