Albuquerque festivities returns to Jemez Historic Site
The biannual event, Light Among the Ruins, will be hosted by the Jemez Historic site in Albuquerque near the end of November and again in December.
Since 1996, this festive event has been held at the Jemez National Historic Landmark in Albuquerque and has attracted an ever-swelling number of visitors with each passing year.
The ruins of the San José de los Jemez church and the village of Giusewa Pueblo will be illuminated with a substantial number of farolito lights set out with the aid of volunteers. An arts and crafts fair will take place on the scene, and food will be offered for visitors to buy. Jemez Pueblo dancers and players of traditional Native American flute music will entertain around two bonfires. Organizers of events like these often make use of poster printing to attract the attention of further visitors.
Drones, flash photography, and the consumption of alcohol will not be permitted at the Jemez Historic site.
This year, the first Light Among the Ruins event will take place on Saturday, November 30 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and then again on December 14 at the same four hours. Tickets to the Jemez Historic site cost $5 for adults and are free for children 16 and younger. For this year's festivities, the prices of tickets will be reduced on November 1.
