Wayne to host outdoor summer day camp

The Wayne Parks and Recreation department is offering a summer camp for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade this summer.

During the eight-week camp, kids will spend most of their time outside. Activities will include sports, games, swimming, and crafts. The camp will use the Wayne Community Center’s indoor pool, so campers can swim daily regardless of the weather. Each week, there will be a theme to guide the games and activities. These include time travel, under the sea, and outer space.

Parents can sign their children up online on the Parks and Recreation website or in person at the Wayne Community Center. The fee is $250 per week. Before and after care is also available for an additional $50 per week each. Towns often use Graphic Design Services to create Flyers for their camps and other events.

Campers should wear sneakers or other closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities. They should also bring a swimsuit, towel, and reusable water bottle each day. To allow them to stay fully engaged, they are asked to leave cell phones and other electronics at home. Campers can pack lunch or purchase it at camp.

Fun-cation Summer Camp will run from Monday, June 30 to Friday, August 22 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm at the Wayne Community Center.
