Wayne Township is kicking off its summer concert series with a country show this June.
The free concert series includes eight outdoor performances featuring different genres. Country band Gunsmoke will start the summer. This will be followed by Steppin’ Out, who will play a variety of classics and popular songs, New Powel Soul, who plays swing and Motown and The Cameo’s, who focus on oldies. Other musicians will play yacht rock, Jimmy Buffett covers, and ‘80s dance hits. The full lineup is available on the Wayne Township website.
The first four shows will take place at Wayne Community Center, and the last four will be at Wayne Town Hall. Seating will be limited, so attendees should bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on. They are also encouraged to bring dry goods to donate to the WIN Food Pantry. In case of rain, those planning to attend can call the Parks and Recreation Department for updates on whether the concert will happen. Organizers often use banner printing services to display band names at this type of outdoor concert.
The Wayne Summer Concert Series will offer shows at Wayne Community Center on Friday, June 26 and Wednesdays, July 8, July 22, and July 29. Performances at Wayne Town Hall will be on Wednesdays, August 5, August 12 and August 26 and Tuesday, September 1. All shows begin at 7:00 pm.
