Wayne museum to celebrate Washingtons birthday

Dey Mansion is hosting two George Washington-focused events in Wayne next month.

The month will begin with the historical site’s George Washington Symposium, which features multiple speakers and presentations. Topics will include Washington’s leadership, daily life during the Revolutionary War era, and other themes related to the Revolution. Tickets are $15 per person and include lunch. Attendees can reserve their spot by phone or email.

Later in February, the mansion will celebrate Washington’s birthday with two evening balls. These events will feature 18th-century music, dancing led by Dancing Master Niel DeMarino, and food. Tickets are $30 per person and can be reserved by phone or email.

Dey Mansion was home to the Dey family and served as Washington’s headquarters during the summer and fall of 1780. It now operates as a museum, offering daily tours as well as school programs and public events. Its collections include 18th- and early 19th-century firearms, tools, and decorative arts. Historical sites often use brochure printing services to share information about their buildings and the key events those buildings hosted.

The George Washington Symposium will be on Saturday, February 7 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, and the two George Washington’s Birthday Ball events will be on Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Dey Mansion in Wayne.
