Wayne to host 5k race for 9th anniversary

The Wayne Rotary Club is hosting its 9th annual 5K race this spring.

The race will start at 9:30 am. The course, which is located next to Our Lady of the Valley Church, is flat. Past runners have described it as a fast course that provides a great opportunity to set a new 5K personal record. A map and detailed directions are available online.

Awards for the top finishers by gender and age category will be presented at 10:30 am. All runners and their guests are invited to the after party at The Village Inn, which follows the awards ceremony. Drinks will be “pay as you go” from the Inn’s full bar, which includes a large wine and beer selection.

Online registration is open now for $35 per runner. The price will increase after May 4. Proceeds from the race support the Rotary Club’s work. A portion will also go toward running programs at local high schools. Track teams need to participate in the race to qualify for this funding. The Wayne Rotary Club supports both local projects like Wayne Day and the Interfaith Network Food Pantry and global organizations like Polio Plus, which works to eradicate polio. Local organizations often use flyer printing services to promote their fundraising events.

The 9th Annual Wayne Rotary Club 5K is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, starting at 9:30 am.
