The Wayne Farmers Market is celebrating Earth Day with an eco-friendly shopping day this spring.
The Eco Market will feature local vendors offering sustainable products in addition to the regular farmers market lineup. The event will also include activities like craft stations, a scavenger hunt, and a raffle drawing. Vendors often use banner printing services to label their tables at this type of event. Items from regular sellers include fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, handmade candles, bath and body products, jams, dog treats, and crocheted pieces.
Businesses and organizations selling eco-friendly products or with an environmentally focused mission are invited to participate in the market. Those interested can contact the organizers by email at waynefarmersmarket@waynetownship.com to discuss details. Participating vendors will include Freakin’ Vegan, a plant-based takeout restaurant; Wayne Grounded, a community volunteer group that works on projects like local park restorations; and ReStore Passaic, which sells used furniture and home goods to fund Habitat for Humanity projects.
The April Eco Market is also the last indoor winter market for the year. The farmers market will return to its outdoor location outside of Town Hall on May 4 and will be open weekly through November 23.
The Wayne Eco Market will take place on Saturday, April 19 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Wayne Township Community Center.
