The 10th Annual Penguin Pace 5K is taking place in Wayne this winter.
The event will include a kids fun run, the 5k and an indoor hot cocoa party. Check-in will open at 7:30 am and the kids run, which is open to those 12 and under, will begin at 8:30. Participants in the main 5k race should start lining up at 8:55, and the race will begin at 9:00. The course is a USATF certified 5k that Forms a flat loop around Packanack Lake. Registration and the cocoa party will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Runners can pick up their race packets the day before the race.
Registration is open now. The cost is $39 per runner through January 31 and $44 on race day. The kids fun run fee is $16. The first 400 people to sign up will receive a race t-shirt, and all participants will receive a goodie bag. Event sponsors often provide Promotional Products for goodie Bags.
Part of the proceeds from the race will support the Wayne Interfaith Network Food Pantry. Participants are also invited to bring nonperishable food items to donate. The Food Pantry serves a mix of families and seniors and provides as-needed supplemental food assistance.
The Penguin Pace 5K will take place on Saturday, February 1 at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Wayne.
