Runners often travel great distances to enjoy their favorite sport, but Northvale residents will only have to make a quick trip to take part in an upcoming run.
Valley Trail Series is a community of people who enjoy trail running in northern New Jersey, and has devised a series of five races to keep people active all winter. The courses vary in length and are designed for participants of all ages and levels of ability.
Winter Race #2 is coming up, and will take place in Tenefly, a short distance from Northvale. The actual venue for the race is the Tenefly Nature Center, a wooded area that covers almost 400 acres, and offers miles of well-kept trails, making it the perfect place to run in winter. The center conserves the woods, but also uses them to educate visitors about local ecosystems, and provide a scenic recreational area.
Organizers remind participants that although the trails are flat, they will be running in a forested area, so they should be aware of roots, rocks, and other obstacles that could cause a trip or fall. They are also asked to obey any trail directions or Signs they encounter on the course. Banner printing can be used to provide signage for events like this.
There are three races available: a 5K, a five mile, and a ten mile. The event is scheduled for December 12, from 7:00 am until 11:00 am, and everyone is asked to wear a mask.
