Berkeley College is offering career workshops for North Jersey high school students this summer.
Students can choose from one of five career fields. They will hear from professors and people currently working in those industries about what career paths are available and the educational and training requirements needed to qualify for entry-level roles. Students will also participate in interactive activities.
The five industry options are business, design, healthcare, fashion, and justice. Guest speakers have been selected to represent different aspects of each industry. The fashion speakers will include a product development associate at Walmart, a store merchandising manager at J Crew, and a bridal services specialist at Vera Wang. Justice speakers will include an NJ Transit police officer, a law clerk, and the executive director of a foster care advocacy nonprofit. The event is free to attend, but participants need to sign up on Berkeley College’s website. Students should select their preferred career track during registration. Workshops are open to any high school students in the region, including residents of Northvale and neighboring towns. Colleges often give out Promotional Products during events for high school students.
The Summer Career Workshops will be on Wednesday, July 8 from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm at Berkley College’s Woodland Park Campus.
