Northvale area conservation group to host outdoor festival

Overpeck County Park is hosting its annual EarthFest celebration this spring.

Bergen County Parks and Hackensack Riverkeeper are partnering to host the event, which is free to attend. All Bergen County residents, including those in Northvale and other towns, are welcome. There will be a fishing derby, eco-friendly vendors, food trucks, kids’ activities and canoeing and kayaking. Each family, including kids five and older, can take a canoe or kayak for a 30 to 45-minute session, depending on availability. The full activity schedule is available on the Eventbrite page.

Nonprofits, businesses and food sellers can sign up as vendors through Eventbrite. Participation is free for nonprofits and $50 or $100 for for-profit businesses depending on table size. Food vendors also need a permit from the Bergen County Health Department. Nonprofits often give out promotional Pens and other materials at this type of community event. Those interested in sponsoring the event or running an environmental presentation can call the organizers to discuss details.

Attendees are invited to make a donation to Hackensack Riverkeeper, a conservation group that works to protect the Hackensack River and its watershed. Its work includes educational programs for multiple age groups, advocacy at the local and federal levels and local river cleanup days.
