What's Happening in Northvale, NJ…

Popular restaurant relocates to Northvale

New York’s beloved Olar restaurant has crossed the border to arrive in Northvale.

Olar became renowned in its Piermont, NY location for its Spanish and Mediterranean-inspired dishes, including Neapolitan pizza, Iberian octopus, and Spanish fries. It closed its Piermont location this January after 10 years in business, but made it clear that the business would be returning on an Instagram post:

“It will be impossible to replicate certain details that made the original Olar so special. But what we can do is promise to offer you something BIGGER and BETTER while simultaneously improving on the quality you have come to expect.”

Owner Miguel Dominguez found a new spot in Northvale, called Olar Noso. The Northvale location provides more seating than the previous restaurant, with a dining room that can accommodate 80 people and a cocktail lounge and wine cellar that will eventually be able to expand capacity to 230. Olar Noso also has its own dedicated parking lot, a change from the Piermont building which was located along a crowded street. Restaurants often use tools like social media and flyer printing to notify old fans of the new location while also attracting newcomers.

For now, however, Olar Noso is starting small, serving dinner only with limited reservations. The restaurant officially opened its new location on Northvale’s Tappen Road on December 14.
