Popular comedian to visit Northvale area

Nationally popular comedian Patton Oswalt will bring his stand-up comedy tour to New Jersey with a show in Montclair.

The stand-up special will feature new material and is part of the “Who’s Ready to Laugh?” tour. His stand-up shows are known for featuring an off-kilter sense of humor that frequently touches on serious issues, as well as Oswalt’s many geeky obsessions. Oswalt is known for both his stand-up comedy, with several albums and specials released across television and streaming platforms, and his acting career, having appeared on series such as King of Queens, Veronica Mars, MODOK, and Mystery Science Theatre 3000.

The tour represents Oswalt’s return to the stage after a 2020 hiatus. The show will include safety protocols in place, including proof of vaccination for entry. Stand-up comedy shows also typically feature warm-up comedians before the main act. The Montclair stop, which could draw in fans from supporting areas like Northvale and Jersey City, is followed by a show in Huntington, New York, with the tour returning to the New York area in March for stops in Troy and Buffalo. Comedians often use methods like poster printing and podcasts to advertise upcoming dates.

“Patton Oswalt: Who’s Ready to Laugh?” will come to the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, New Jersey on the evening of Friday, February 11. Doors open at 6:00 pm.
