The New Jersey chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) has named a Northvale resident to the post of Treasurer.
Steven Lazarus, AIA, will occupy the post for 2015. Mr. Lazarus was installed at the chapter’s annual awards party, held in Moorestown.
Lazarus is a registered architect, and has been a member of AIA for almost 20 years. He previously held the position of second vice president of the New Jersey chapter. He is also a founder of Axis Architectural Studio in Englewood; a company that provides total interior and architectural design services to residential and commercial clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic area.
Some of the projects undertaken by Axis include medical offices, sports facilities, boutique stores, and corporate expansions, in addition to residential design. Lazarus was graduated from Cornell University School of Architecture, and is heavily involved in maintaining the strength of Axis’s finances. He notes that his day-to-day work at Axis will carry over into this position as Treasurer of AIA-NJ.
The AIA was founded in 1857, and has its headquarters in Washington, D.C. and a membership of about 86,000 nation-wide. The New Jersey chapter is located in Trenton, and has about 2,000 members.
