Sarah Michelle Gellar, known to millions for playing the title role in the television series ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, as well as for her work in films like ‘Cruel Intentions’ and ‘The Grudge’, will make an appearance at a Northvale book shop in early April.
Many people might not know that Geller is also a chef, and has recently written a cookbook titled ‘Stirring Up Fun with Food’. She will be in Northvale soon to sign it, at Books and Greetings on Livingston Street.
Gellar will be talking about the concept of her cookbook, and will share some of the recipes, which she has designed to appeal to children. She says she refused to listen to her kids make comments like “I hate vegetables,” and instead set out to change their attitude. Her solution was to come up with recipes the children could help make, and by involving them in the process of cooking, she taught them to appreciate and enjoy all kinds of foods while also increasing their self-confidence.
Part of the fun of the cookbook is the way in which Gellar “crafts” food, often in connection with special days. There are recipes dedicated to Star Wars, the Super Bowl, Halloween, Valentine's Day, and other occasions.
Gellar will be at the book store on April 4 at 7:00 pm. Events like this can benefit if organizers work with a postcard printing company that can Print a mailer announcing the signing.
