Northvale area to start 2024 with birdwatching

The Bergen County Audubon Society and Teaneck Creek Conservancy are hosting a New Year’s Day walk and birdwatching event.

The Audubon Society wants to help Bergen County residents, including residents of Northvale and other neighboring towns, spot their first bird of the year. The guided walk will take participants through the 46 acres of restored and protected wetlands at Teaneck Creek Conservancy. Guides will help newer birdwatchers identify the birds they see. Both new and experienced watchers are welcome.

The event is free to attend, but participants are asked to sign up in advance. Registration is available on the Conservancy’s website. The walk is appropriate for children, and all ages are welcome. Participants should dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. The event will take place rain or shine. Driving directions are available on the Conservancy’s website. Nature reserves often use flyer printing services to promote their programs to the community.

The Teaneck Creek Conservancy hosts regular free events, including two birdwatching walks each month. It also runs an environment-themed book club and presents eco-art shows and installations. Its trails are open to the public daily. Those interested in supporting the Conservancy are invited to become members.

The New Year’s Day walk will take place on Monday, January 1 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Teaneck Creek Conservancy.
