Northvale area reservoir to welcome fishers and paddlers

Oradell Reservoir is hosting a fishing and boating event to get June started.

The event will include 5K and 10K paddling races, a fishing derby, and an opening paddling session. The Reservoir Challenge date is a free fishing day, which means participants can fish in the Reservoir without a license. Proceeds from the event will support Hackensack Riverkeeper, an environmental organization that works to preserve and restore the Hackensack River.

All participants need to register in advance for boating and fishing through Eventbrite. The race registrations and boat launch fees are $30 per person and boat rentals range from $30 to $60. The event is open to everyone in the area, including residents of Northvale and other neighboring towns. Children can participate in some events with adult supervision depending on their age and the type of boat. Details are available on the registration page, along with a full schedule for the day.

Food and kids’ activities will be available throughout the day, and everyone is welcome to watch the races. Organizations interested in setting up a table are welcome to email Tyler at outreach@hackensackriverkeeper.org to make arrangements. Representatives often use brochure printing services to provide information about their organization’s programs at this type of event.

The 2024 Oradell Reservoir Challenge will take place on Saturday, June 1 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
