Northvale area nature center to host night hike

The Tenafly Nature Center is leading a full moon evening hike this February.

The hike will be about 1.5 miles long on the Nature Center’s trails. It should last between one and a half and two hours, depending on participants’ hiking speed. The Nature Center has designed the event as an opportunity for participants to have a peaceful opportunity for contemplation and connection with nature. Since the Center normally closes before dark, the event will be a rare opportunity for participants to see the trails after dark.

The event is limited to adults 18 and older only. Participants should wear closed-toed shoes suitable for hiking and bring a flashlight. They will spend the entire event outdoors and should dress accordingly. Space is limited, so those planning to attend should sign up in advance on the Nature Center’s website. The cost is $8 for members and $12 for non-members. All adults are welcome, including those from Northvale and other nearby towns. In case of poor weather, the hike will be rescheduled for the next month. Nature centers often use printing services to create trail maps for their guests.

The full moon hike will take place on Sunday, February 5, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, starting from the Tenafly Nature Center Visitor Center. Participants should arrive 15 minutes early.
