Northvale area historical group to host walking tour

The Bergen County Historical Society is offering a pop-up walking tour of some of the county’s most interesting historic sites this spring.

The tour will take participants through Historic New Bridge Landing, which contains the 1752 Steuben House, an Out Kitchen, and the Demarest House Museum, which was built in 1794. The Steuben House is the only building still standing that belonged to Baron von Steuben, who is best known for volunteering to train Continental troops during the American Revolution.

Tickets are available on the Historical Society’s website. The cost is $15.50 for adults and free for Historical Society members and students aged 21 and younger. The tour is open to everyone in the area, including residents of Northvale and other towns throughout Bergen County. Historical societies often use brochure printing services to share information about local historical sites.

The tour group will meet at the Meadow. Parking is free, and the site is located two blocks from the New Bridge Landing station on the Pascack Valley NJ Transit train line. The tour will be canceled or rescheduled in case of bad weather. It will only go ahead if the temperature is at least 40°C and no rain is expected.

The Pop-Up Walking Tour of Historic New Bridge Landing will take place on Sunday, April 7 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
