The renovated Forest Hill House in Newark has been unveiled by LIHC Investment Group, Tredway, and city, state, and federal officials.
The senior housing complex offers 99 affordable housing units. Tredway is a developer of mixed income and affordable real estate, and LIHC Investment Group is one of the largest owners of affordable housing in the country.
The Forest Hill House is on Mount Prospect Avenue and has studios and apartments with one bedroom. It is geared towards seniors (at least 62 years old) and disabled individuals and their families.
Tredway and LIHC renovated all the bathrooms and kitchens. There are stone countertops and new cabinets, fixtures, flooring, and tiling. ADA-accessible upgrades have been installed to create more comfortable and safer living spaces. There are also Energy Star appliances, air conditioning units, and new windows, and all the lighting was converted to LED lights.
The building’s patio spans 1,000 square feet and has been refurbished with new landscaping and furnishings. Enclosed outdoor space spanning 300 square feet was added to the patio. Additional amenities include a nursing station, doctor’s office, fitness and mobility room, beauty salon, and free community-wide Wi-Fi.
More details on such major updates and their benefits for residents can be provided with brochure printing.
This is the first renovation of Forest Hill House in its 50-year existence.
