Historic building in Newark available for leasing

The Griffith Building in downtown Newark has now begun leasing its space.

The building is across from Military Park and adjacent to the Hahne & Company building on Broad Street. It has been redeveloped into a mixed-use property offering 20,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and modern residential units for future tenants.

The leasing agent for the building, MIG Real Estate, said that there are 76 new residential units that blend finishes of a contemporary nature with the historic character of the building. The units include luxury studios and those with one bedroom. The studios are 550 square feet in size and rent for $2,200 a month while the units with one bedroom cover 750 square feet and rent for $2,500 a month.

The building also has a penthouse residence of two floors with over 1,400 square feet of outdoor space and views of the skyline of Newark.

The space on the ground floor is suitable for large-format restaurant, retail, or experiential concepts. MIG Real Estate describes this as an ideal opportunity for a leading tenant to become a destination in the heart of downtown.

Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform residents and commercial establishments of such new opportunities in the downtown district.

The building which was once vacant and boarded up now has a new entrance with tall bay windows and a sleek black façade.
