The first high-rise apartment building in Newark will have a new gym on the ground floor. The goal of this gym is to diversify the fitness and health options in the city.
A long-term lease has been signed by Alpha Fit Club. This is a boutique fitness studio that offers group training in a circuit style. The space they will occupy spans 3.500 square feet of the building at 55 Union and is in the Ironbound district of Newark. The building itself is 12 stories tall and has 403 luxury apartment units that have been leasing since May 2023. It is operated by J&L Companies, a real estate developer based in Newark.
Such new fitness centers might benefit from brochure printing to highlight their offerings to help attract those in the building and in the neighboring community.
The studio in Newark will add a new amenity for health to the Ironbound neighborhood and complement the emphasis on active living. Partners of Alpha Fit, Elizabeth Sutton and Lizzette Pagan, said that the studio is also about pushing limits, bringing people together for support, and enabling everyone to become stronger as a unit.
Principal of J&L Companies, Gabriel Lopez, added that this is a partnership that is a win for the residents, the neighborhood, and the city. He said that new energy and opportunities for fitness will be brought by Alpha Fit Club to the community.
The gym is scheduled to open in January 2026.
