The New Jersey Urban Water Conference will be hosted by the University Heights section of New Jersey Institute of Technology, which is located in the Central Ward of Newark.
The Urban Water Solutions Initiative will present the program, which involves a wide range of speakers. Some of these will include Bob Martin, Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection; Radhika Fox, CEO of the United States Water Alliance; and representatives from the National Association of Water Companies, Xylem, the Cooper Ferry Partnership, and PUSH Buffalo. Michele Siekerka, President of the New Jersey Business and Industry Association, will be the moderator.
The program’s goal is to increase awareness of the water infrastructure as key to the prosperity of New Jersey, educate on best practices and innovative solutions, and celebrate the Urban Water Solutions Initiative and its accomplishments. By transforming the urban water infrastructure of New Jersey, which is now inadequate, many benefits to the community, such as clean waterways, healthier and safer neighborhoods, economic growth, and flood and climate resilience can result.
