Newark graduate selected for special program

Generra Rodriguez, an alumna of a Newark KIPP school, will be participating in the national Alumni Leadership Accelerator program of KIPP in the upcoming year. The program is made possible by a partnership between KIPP and Management Leadership for Tomorrow.

Banner printing companies can be hired to create throughout the community so that people learn more about such achievements.

Rodriguez is one of 23 alumni from KIPP schools across the country who were selected to be fellows this year. There was a total of 100 applicants from 10 different communities, including Philadelphia, Texas, Eastern North Carolina, and Southern California, with careers in technology, finance, law, and education, among other fields. Leadership experience, achievements, and vision for impact form the basis for selection as fellows.

The program provides fellow with 12 hours of personalized, executive leadership coaching. They also have access to opportunities for networking and skill building, attend the Aspen Ideas Festival, and become part of a cohort of peers who are graduates of KIPP schools from around the United States. The mission of the program is to enable alumni of KIPP schools to become decision-makers and leaders at local, state and national levels.

Rodriguez has been an operations coordinator for data managements, social media manager, enrollment specialist, and community outreach specialist for the Newark Board of Education, where she works as a clerk.
