Newark company starts program to attract businesses to city

A Business Attraction Program is being launched by Audible, one of the largest private companies in Newark.

This program is designed to provide incentives for businesses to relocate to the city. There are already six start-ups involved in the program.

Close to $1m has been committed by the company to invest in relocations and expansions of companies this year. Aisha Glover, head of urban development for the company, said it is using various incentives to attract companies to do business in Newark. Among these incentives are a rent subsidy of $500 for employees to live in Newark, and another subsidy of up to $250,000 for items such as equipment, capital, lease payments, and renovations.

Flyer printing with more information about such programs can help to garner more interest in their benefits for a city.

Glover said the company is focusing on making this program available to tech startups and innovation businesses because those segments offer many job prospects. She added that to increase foot traffic in the city, the company is focusing on these companies because the jobs help to create many additional positions in the community.

The tech startups in the program include Fitnescity, co:census, Gymbie, and ABF Creative. There are also two restaurants in the program, which are BLVD Bistro and Newark’s Culture Club.
