Newark collaborates with confectionery company to improve citys sustainability

Mars Wrigley Confectionery U.S. and the mayor of Newark, Ras Baraka, recently announced a partnership that will introduce nonprofit organization Keep America Beautiful to Newark.

The organization will be working with the business community, the city, and other nonprofits to improve recycling efforts, curtail littering, and help to make the community more attractive.

Baraka commented on the great efforts of Keep America Beautiful to support community programs and sustainability across the country. He added that Mars Wrigley will be returning to its roots in Newark to create this program, which will help the city to be stronger from both environmental and economic standpoints.

Founding executive director of Keep America Beautiful-Newark, Malkia King, said that the organization will work with its many partnerships to help make Newark healthy, safe, clean, and beautiful. Grants from national partners will be used to beautify open spaces, improve efforts in recycling efforts by the public, and create urban community gardens to provide fresh produce to those living in the city. King expressed her honor to lead this program in building a better quality of life for the citizens of the city.

Among the programs planned are the Great American Cleanup in April and America Recycling Day, which will take place in mid-November. Banner printing can be used to keep the community abreast of such programs and encourage their participation.
