Later this summer, Newark residents can participate in CurlPalooza, a festival event featuring hundreds of vendors selling hair products catered for specific hair types, health and wellness goods, and a diverse range of beauty products for all skin colors.
Guests can pick up Business Cards from their favorite vendors to share with friends and family. There will also be natural hair care workshops.
Previously, the CurlPalooza organizers have hosted events featuring the clothing brand Sofistafunk and the designer Kyemah McEntyre. This year, vendors will also be selling similar arts and crafts and clothing items. Additionally, the event will be showcasing live music with a DJ.
CurlPalooza has teamed up with Black Girl Comedy, an organization that uplifts the marginalized voices of black female comedians. This comedy event is will be taking place with various establishments on Halsey Street in the evening after the Curlpalooza festival.
The event will take place Saturday, August 8 from 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm. The festival will take place inside the Newark Express at The Hahnes Building in Newark New Jersey on Halsey Street. Entry is $10 for the event.
The comedy section of the event will take place in various establishments along Halsey Street. This event will begin from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Admission to the festival and comedy crawl is $15. If participants would only like to participate in the comedy crawl, tickets are $10.
