The Newark Black Film Festival will begin at the end of June and run through the end of July.
It will showcase screenings of adult films on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm and youth films at 1:00 pm. As the films are being shown at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, the Newark Museum, and the Public Library and CityPlex, flyer printing could help the word spread throughout the city about this event.
The Film Festival was started back in 1974, making it the oldest of its kind in the United States. It has become a place in which emerging writers, producers, directors, film buffs, and performers who enjoy African American and African Diaspora cinema can show their work and creations.
The films reflect the diversity of the experience of black people in both the past and present times in America. Its wide variety of cinematic Forms ranges from the avant-garde to the documentary for both children and adults.
This year, the Paul Robeson awards will be handed out as well. This is a competition held every two years to honor the spirit of Robeson, who was a famous athlete, performer, and activist.
The festival begins on June 25 and will run for six weeks. It is free of charge to attend and open to the public. Get a Free Quote for Forms
