Foundation for children expands executive leadership

Two new directors have been hired at the New Jersey Children’s Foundation (NJCF), which was an organization launched in Newark three years ago.

These new hires will enable the foundation to build on its local and state initiatives for many years to come. Announcements of such important new hires are often made known throughout the community with poster printing.

Colleen Schulz-Eskow will be the Senior Director of Public Policy. She will lead all the work of the foundation in state initiatives and public policy, and will help direct the future of the NJCF. Schulz-Eskow has spent the past 20 years at the New Jersey Department of Education, holding positions such as deputy chief of staff for the department in which she managed its policy development division and legislative affairs.

Galen Johnson will be the Director of External Relations. He will lead the local initiatives of the foundation, including grantee supports, community partnerships, and other work based in Newark. Johnson previously worked at the North Ward Center where he was involved in community engagement and recreational programs.

Kyle Rosenkrans, executive director of the NJCF, said that these new hires are a reflection of the unique, skilled, and diverse talent required in this work. They join Rosenkrans and Sara Yan, executive director in residence, and Kennisha Miles, who is deputy director.
