Essex county community college to hold job fair

Later this month, there will be a free job fair in the gymnasium of Essex County College in Newark, held by the Essex County Department of Economic Development, Training and Employment.

Such departments will often use services like poster printing to inform those who are looking for employment, and jobseekers may be looking for professional résumé and business card printing services to advertise themselves to the over 100 vendors and service providers at the fair.

There will be businesses from a variety of fields at the fair, including banking, health care, higher education, social services, wireless communications, and food preparation. There will also be information from local agencies and county offices about job readiness skills, health screenings, homelessness prevention, and foreclosure.

According to Samuel Okparaeke, WIB Executive Director/One-Stop Manager of Essex County, the County is looking to increase the number of people coming to his office applying for services, so this job fair has been expanded to make it more like an expo and provide one place where attendees can get all the information they need with regard to looking for a job.

Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr., Executive Director of Essex County, added that the purpose of the job fair is two-fold; it will provide employment opportunities and access to services for residents, together with qualified and skilled applicants for businesses.

The job fair will be held on Thursday, May 15.
