A new ShopRite store will be opening in Newark at the end of this month.
Its location will be in the new Springfield Marketplace commercial and residential development, which is in the Central Ward of Newark in the University Heights section. Other food-related establishments there will include a Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen and a Sarku Japan. There will also be 152 apartments.
Construction on the Springfield Marketplace development began in 2013, after it had been vacant for many years. It is bordered on the east by Prince Street, on the west by Jones Street, on the north by South Orange Avenue and on the south by Springfield Avenue. The New Jersey Transit and Coach USA buses provide public transportation to the location.
The ShopRite joins other food markets, such as Save a Lot and Food Depot, that have opened within the past five years in the Central Ward district, along with a Pathmark that opened in 1990. A lack of supermarkets in the area meant it was once labeled as a “food desert”.
Neil Greenstein will own the store. He also owns the ShopRite in Bloomfield, and could use flyer printing companies in the area to Print Flyers about the new marketplace and the stores that are planned for it, with more detailed information about the ShopRite and its products and services.Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Print
