Virtual 5K to raise funds in Livingston

Saint Barnabas Medical Center (SBMC) in Livingston will be hosting a virtual 5K for CycleRed this month.

For a registration fee of $40, participants can swim, run, or walk on the day. All participants will receive a T-shirt.

Such events and their fundraising efforts are often promoted throughout a community with poster printing. There are also many levels of sponsorship available.

The funds raised from this year’s event will help support health initiatives of both a community and global nature at SBMC. SBMC and its Social Impact and Community Investment (SICI) practice are looking to address social factors that determine health and eliminate disparities in healthcare. This is a collaborative effort among community stakeholders, RWJBarnabas Health, and facility leaders to help vulnerable communities and residents in both locally and around the world.

RWJBarnabas Health is the largest integrated health care system in New Jersey and provides services and treatments to over three million patients each year.

The hosts for this year’s event are Lauren Norcross, Dr. Alan Garten, Dr. Ernani Sadural, and Margie Heller of SBMC. They have said that the event this year will help to supporting the health and wellbeing of communities in New Jersey and elsewhere.

CycleRed 2020 will take place on Sunday, August 9. There will be a kick-off message broadcast to all participants at 10:00 am.
